Paediatric Minimally Invasive Surgery and Urology Course

Since 2018, we are hosting the Paediatric Minimally Invasive Surgery and Urology Course, a 2-day interactive course that gather 12 participants and 6 faculty. Surgeons of all levels have the opportunity to train on a wide range of carefully selected models, such as the avian model that was developed for neonatal MIS training.

Course program

On Day 1, after an update on the physiological specificities of laparoscopy in children and technical aspects, the participants practice

  • Dissection
  • Pneumoperitoneum
  • Small space
  • Energy device
  • Intestinal anastomosis
  • Cholecysdtectomy

On Day 2, they perform specific procedures such as pyeloplasty, cholecystectomy pyloromyotomy…
