From the 05.07.2021 to the 08.07.2021, the SFITS was delighted to host the very first edition of the Geneva Micorsurgery Course directed by Prof Torstein Meling. It was a huge success and we were pleased to welcome faculties and participants for this occasion. We are already looking forward to launching the next edition.
This course aimed at teaching and learning useful exercises to practice microsurgery. Microsurgery has evolved and in order to be a part of this evolution, it is necessary to start microsurgical training and let it become a mindset, a state of mind and perhaps a form of meditation.
The main topics during this intense week was:
A total of 10 participants, who were carefully chosen by Prof Torstein Meling, had the chance to participate to this one-of-kind experience in Geneva. They all had the opportunity to talk and exchange with respected surgeons such as : Prof Torstein Meling, Dr Renato Gondar, Dr Victor Volovici, Prof Raphael Guzman, Prof Jean-Yves Beaulieu and Prof Daniel Kalbermatten.
The course was accredited by the Swiss Society of Neurosurgery (32 credits), the Swiss Plastic Surgery (30 credits), and the Swiss Hand Surgery (32 credits). The EACCME accreditation is still pending.
