2023 Paediatric Minimally Invasive Surgery and Urology Course

The 4th edition of the Paediatric Minimally Invasive Surgery and Urology Course occurred on August 24&25 at the SFITS. 12 participants and 6 faculty participated in this interactive 2-day workshop.

Surgeons of all levels had the opportunity to train on a wide range of carefully selected models, such as the avian model that was developed for neonatal MIS training.

Program

On Day 1, after an update on the physiological specificities of laparoscopy in children and technical aspects, the participants practiced

• Dissection
• Pneumoperitoneum
• Small space
• Energy device
• Intestinal anastomosis
• Cholecysdtectomy

On Day 2, they performed specific procedures such as pyeloplasty, cholecystectomy pyloromyotomy…
